Grounding

Are you feeling ungrounded?

Are you feeling anxious? restless?

Are you feeling down or depressed?

Are you feeling a lack of passion or purpose?

 

Your salvation may lie in grounding your energy.

It is also a great way to boost your immunity. Not only adults but it can also helps kids feel more centered and calm.

What is GROUNDING?

Grounding is a way of anchoring our Physical, Mental and Spiritual selves to the Earth. It helps us stay connected to our body and Earth. This in turn helps us feel that “We Belong in this World”.

Grounding also known as Earthing has both a scientific and energetic explanation. Earth’s subtle surface energy field (negative electrical potential) upholds the electrical stability of our bodies, supporting our vitality and health. It has a calming, balancing effect on our physical, mental and emotional bodies.

For most of our evolutionary history, humans have had continuous contact with the earth. It is only recently that substances such as rubber and plastic soled shoes, asphalt, wood, rugs have separated us from this contact.

Good news is that there are many other ways to ground yourself.

OTHER WAYS TO GROUND YOUR ENERGY

  1. One of my favorite ways is through Visualization. A small 5 minute guided meditation (imagine yourself as a tree with roots going down and energy of the earth rising up through the roots filling your body) works great in grounding your body. My kids love it and would actually ask me to do it for them.

2. Physical activity/exercise.

3. Gardening

4. Spending time at the beach or the ocean.

5. Eating root vegetables (potatoes, sweet potatoes, carrots)

6. Working with Crystals (Obsidian, Black Tourmaline, Smoky Quartz). Black and red colors. Interestingly they all work well with your “Root Chakra”. And Root Chakra grounds our body.

Try any of the above options consciously for 5–10 minutes every day, preferably morning and evening and feel the difference within a week.
